Is Tarot the antidote to figuring it all out? 🗝️🗝️

Published 29 days ago • 2 min read

Hi There Tarot Friends,

Figuring it all out is a common trap that people are lulled into.

The first mistake is thinking that it is possible to figure it all out. Some things we will never get to the bottom of, like what the exact conspiracy was to kill JFK, why they did it, and who all the players were.

Life itself presents many mysteries, such as why are we here and what happens when we die. We can never know the actual answers to these questions. But pondering them adds to our growth as human beings.

So if you’ve found yourself caught in the snare of “I have to figure this out”, Tarot can be the antidote.

This is not a cop out saying that Tarot cannot give specific information. Tarot absolutely can give you specific information.

But unlike AI, Tarot can give you perspective on a situation.

This perspective is commonly achieved through the Major Arcana cards, but is by no means limited to the Majors.

Tarot has an intelligence of its own that can respond, “That’s an interesting question, but does a drowning man need more water?”

Divination systems, like dreams, speak to us through symbolism, metaphor and parables. It requires some interpretation on the receiver’s part to decipher what the message is.

Looking for pat answers and “scientific proof” is the number one sickness of our time.

I am not proposing a nihilistic approach to life which says everything is meaningless so why bother.

What I am saying is each of us needs to seek the Truth within (The Hermit). The practice of seeking (The Fool) requires effort on the Seeker’s part.

Truth is something to be examined (Justice) not trusted.

☠️In our highly polarized society where we are goaded into taking sides on every proposition, the act of drinking poison and waiting for the other side to die is the name of the game. ☠️

Tarot can be just the antidote to the poison coursing through our veins. Hope springs eternal (the Star).

Don’t believe me?

Think of a sticky problem for which you have been unable to find a solution.

State a question around it out loud such as:

  • What do I need to know about –fill in the blank
  • What am I not seeing about – fill in the blank
  • Why or how does this problem have a hold on me?

Then pull a card.

You might want to pull from just the Major Arcana, but this is not required.

Challenge yourself to find the message that resonates with you right here, right now. Soak in it.

Know that you can return to this well of self-generated truth whenever you need to.

Eclipse Highlights

video preview

It was a cloudy day all day, so we were only able to catch glimpses of the eclipse through the cloud cover.

The clouds acted like eclipse glasses, which was cool, but none of the pictures captured the eclipse.

Totality was at around 1:30 PM and day became night for several minutes. It was awe-inducing. I bought 2 rings with Amber stones, that I thought symbolized the eclipse the day before.

I'm going to let the eclipse sit with me for a bit, and perhaps later I will share my thoughts with you.
