For today's newsletter, I intended to write a review of the Beautiful Rebellion Tarot deck.

But...it turned out that I bought a counterfeit deck on Amazon.

So you can read about my experience buying a counterfeit deck and get some tips on how to avoid it over on the website.

I'm chalking it all up to Mercury retrograde.

Mercury is retrograde until April 25th.

Is Mercury Retrograde All Hype?

I am one of those people that Mercury retrograde usually doesn't affect very much.

And yes, I think a lot of Mercury retrograde talk is all hype.

However, this one has been a doozy!

Are you feeling it too?

In general, I've been quite irritable. Aries, the sign that Mercury traverses for the retrograde, is ruled by Mars. So that means that this retrograde is flavored by Mars if you will. Mars can be quite the hot head, and I've been really quick to anger during this retrograde.

This retrograde is also prone to speaking before thinking. I've been trying NOT to do that.

In general, from my experience and from other people's experiences, it seems that there is a lot of pressure to DO something and SAY something. This something might have been around for a while, but now there is pressure to TAKE ACTION.

For example, my mom has had an issue with a relative for over a year. But suddenly, yesterday, she told me she has a pressing need to call this person and discuss. My mom has an Aries Moon, no surprise she wants to discuss how she feels about the whole thing.

The Good

On the positive side, during Mercury retrograde, my book Tarot in the Moment made it through the Beta testing phase (many thanks, Beta Testers!) and the final, final edit with the editor. (Mercury retrogrades and retrogrades in general are a time of review and revisions).

If you pre-ordered the book, watch your inbox, I should have it delivered to you soon (minus any mishaps). I set the delivery date as on or before April 30, knowing that all this was happening during Mercury retrograde. Smart or naive? Time will tell.

Also on the positive side, I have been brimming with energy! Aries is a youthful, vigorous, and sometimes athletic sign. No extra cups of coffee required these days.

The Bad

On the not so positive but classic Mercury retrograde side:

• Was woken up at 4:25 am by the city replacing my water meter. They said I called and said it was leaking. It wasn't and I didn't. (general miscommunication)
• 2 days later, my water was mysteriously off, but quickly repaired. (just weird, I say let's chalk it up to Mercury retrograde)
• Was thinking that I needed to slow down since it was Mercury retrograde. Tweaked my back, and was forced to slow down a bit. (Mercury likes to go fast, and so does Aries. Retrogrades are a time to slow down)
• Noticed my shirt was on backwards one day. (A retrograde is a reversal. My shirt was reversed)
• Was doing yardwork and found a buried machete. (Mercury retrograde is when lost objects are sometimes found. The machete belongs to Aries, a Mars ruled sign. 🗡️)
• I activated a new plug in and somehow de-indexed my website. (Not paying close enough attention to what you are doing is classic Mercury retrograde mayhem.)
• Bought an online course and couldn't log in. Took a bunch of troubleshooting to solve the problem. (I think you are now sick of hearing about Mercury retrograde).
